3rd Street Brownstone

Comfortable elegance was at the top of the list of requirements for the owner of this beautiful brownstone. With its quiet location, typically basking in the natural light streaming from the oversized windows at the front of the house, it wasn’t hard to see why the owners fell in love with it.

To bring this brownstone to the level the owner required was a true transfiguration of the space. With a culinary passion the client wanted more usable space to ensure the whole family could be together for preparing and enjoying dinner. Plus, this needed to be an entertaining space.

Kasia’s design began by stipulating the enlargement of the kitchen windows and installing new tilting frames to maximise the light entering the kitchen. The new kitchen was given a focal point which centred around an island, giving unobstructed views throughout the whole space. The fabric and color of the units, in dark walnut, were selected to compliment the new window fittings, pairing traditional and contemporary styles for an overall simple elegance.
