Sterling Place Brownstone

The grand 19th century architecture of Sterling Place, plus its proximity to the park drew in this particular resident. The Park Slope area has an allure like nowhere else in Brooklyn.

Despite the beauty of the exterior, internally the client wanted to transform their dark and cramped home into a light, bright and luxurious space.

Starting with the master bedroom and bath, work began by opening up an existing blocked-in window in the bathroom and adding a large skylight, this immediately flooded the space with natural light.

After removing the existing bedroom closet, which was built into the bathroom, this created a symmetrical layout for his/her vanities and achieved symmetry in the space with a second centrally located skylight. New vanities with a bespoke design were installed using dark walnut and white carrera countertops, continuing the aesthetics from some of the other house interiors.
